Born in Borsa, Romany, Janna Kalderash was the eldest of her family, destined to inherit the powers of her grandmother and the women before her, as the clan’s puternic ţigancă.

Angelus had come in search of the mystical Ainigriv, created by Milos, the most talented metallurgist of his time. Metallurgy, the gift of the Kalderash men, and for the chosen women, the mark of power, called each of them to their fate. Stealth, glamours, so many talents had been their weapons to hide from Angel and from others, as they had for centuries these gypsies, correctly call Romanys simply blended into the society around them. Cursed with a soul, Angelus became Angel, who ironically enough, fell in love with the slayer.

Rebellious as she was, Janna left her beloved Borsa for England where she was education, and as was her talent, she blended in, taking on the alias of Jenny Calendar. Leaving prematurely, her grandmother never passed on the powers of the ţigancă to Jenny. The kinsmen charged with following Angel, was killed by one of Angel’s enemies. As spry as he was, Uncle Yanos had to been too old to follow Angel to Los Angelus. Direct descent that had been Jenny’s curse, the direct descendant of the most beloved of her clan, Janna the puternic ţigancă of her time.

Vengeance was part of the life of Romany, and even though Steven King, had written about it in ‘Thinner,’ he had only partially touched the surface, and even though the name was different, Jenny was Romany.

Following Angel to Sunnydale, she became the ‘computer teacher’ at Sunnydale High School. A self-proclaimed techno pagan, in her early thirties, was a powerful wicca but few people knew this about her. A romantic at heart, she believes in a happy ending, regardless if she gets one or not. She was truly, madly, deeply in love with Rupert Giles, the school librarian; able to bring out a side he keeps hidden to others. One of the few people who can really get to him, she enjoyed teasing him but would rather be in his arms.

Jenny never counted on falling in love with “England,” her pet name for Giles, likewise she never intended on betraying him with her omission of her true identity. This omission cost Jenny everything, dying, as her ancestor did, at the hand of Angelus.

History has a habit of repeating itself. But this time, there is a twist. Instead of another Kalderash, it is Jenny who is back.
